Based on Kaurna Meyunna Yerta, Nature Street Creative is an environmental strategy and engagement consultancy creating positive environmental and social impacts. Founded in 2018, we work collaboratively with not-for-profits, government, knowledge holders, creatives, and community to support conservation action and build nature connection.

Drawing on over 20 years of environmental management and community engagement experience, NSC brings exceptional project management and coordination skills to deliver environmental strategy, engagement, and educational services.

Claire Lock, Founder

Meet Claire, our multi-award-winning environmental manager and conservation advocate

Claire's work has won state and national awards, including United Nations World Environment Day and South Australian Urban Landcare awards. Her coastal management work is adapted and adopted nationally, and she's received official recognition for high performance throughout her career.

She's authored environmental publications, including Adelaide metropolitan coastal vegetation plans, coastal and Adelaide garden planting guides, nature connection resources, and conference papers. Over five years, her technical expertise was recognised as an independent environmental grant assessor and moderator for the Australian Government's Caring for Our Country program, which funded natural resource management initiatives throughout Australia. 

Claire is particularly interested in connecting young people with the natural world and has undertaken impactful coordination roles with not-for-profit Nature Play SA and Landscape Board Green Adelaide

Claire holds a Bachelor of Environmental Management, a Diploma of Government (Management), and a suite of environmental on-ground works certifications. She has aWorking with Children Check and current Youth Mental Health First Aid and Senior First Aid.

Karl Winda Telfer

Burka-Senior Man Mullawirra Meyunna (Dry Forest)


Karl holds deep time wisdom and knowledge of land, sea, and sky Country. He is a first language holder, Cultural and Regenerative Designer, Educator, and Creative. He has been involved in Aboriginal cultural and spiritual renewal all his life, coming from a family of strong cultural and political activity.

He is known in his and the wider community as a cultural bearer (coming from his mother) of the Spirit Fire - the peace lore fire of Tjirbruki/Tjilbruke and the Tjirbruki/Tjilbruke Dreaming Track, which his Aboriginal mother began the Cultural and Spiritual renewal of in the late 1970's. With her passing, Karl now carries cultural obligations and responsibilities for protecting these sacred places along the Tjirbruki Dreaming Track.

Karl holds cultural authority for his Traditional Countries in Kaurna Meyunna (Adelaide) and Dilpa Gurrunda – Wari People (southern Yorke Peninsula).

Karl brings many people together through "bi-cultural ways of understanding" and the spirit of humanity. He brings people closer to Nature and educates the community to connect and see the cultural landscape. Karl has worked on many major landscape and architectural design and cultural creative projects over the past thirty years.

 

Jessica Abell

Jessica is a multifaceted and creative graphic designer who thrives in the realm of creativity, communication, and storytelling, nurturing authentic connections through the art of visual design and branding. 

With over 18 years of industry experience, Jessica's journey as a self-led designer and studio manager has enabled her to cultivate a diverse skill set that transcends the boundaries of conventional graphic design. Her expertise encompasses various domains, including branding, print, packaging, large-format design, commercial fit-outs, wayfinding, magazine/e-zine design, book publishing, email marketing, social media and website development. 

Her true passion lies in guiding businesses to embrace design - enabling them to articulate their unique stories and connection through their brand. She excels in cultivating genuine relationships between brands and their audiences, all achieved through her strategic, consistent, and high-quality design work.

In an ever-evolving world, Jessica's adaptability and dedication to her work enables her to craft experiences that leave an enduring impact, bridging the gap between brands and their audiences with authenticity and creativity.
